PDF files are an excellent solution when it comes to sharing text. They come in smaller sizes and they are more stable. The layout of the text and other elements will remain the same, no matter what, and you can view them, regardless of the used fonts. If you are tired of the same old tools for reading PDFs, the alternative you need is Foxit Reader. Its interface is organized better than the one of other similar programs and the array of smart tools, placed at your disposal, will give you a better experience when reading or sharing any PDF documents.

The software is only a fraction of what the developers have to offer. It is available in various languages, for Windows, Mac or Linux platforms, iPad and other mobile devices, powered by Windows or Android. Foxit Reader can be downloaded and installed rapidly and it does not require high performance hardware.

The interface is not very different from the Adobe PDF Reader, but it includes a number of features which make Foxit Reader a very useful software. It is possible to load multiple PDF files on the same interface and view them under separate tabs. The software also features a Start screen, where you can find a list of recently loaded PDF documents, so you can access them again, without browsing through your folders a second time. The Start will be placed under its own tab, after loading a document, so you can return to it at any time.

Once a document is loaded, you can use the software's options for various tasks. Foxit Reader lets you view a PDF file exactly the way it is or display it, using nothing but plain text. This option will take effect instantly, regardless of the text's original format. You can take snapshots of any area on the loaded document. After selecting the Snapshot tool, you need to select an area by drawing a rectangle around it. The selected area will be copied to the clipboard, right after drawing the rectangle.

Sharing is another feature of Foxit Reader. A document can be attached to an email, using your default mail client, or shared on Facebook or Twitter. Like the previous options, these can also be found on the toolbar. If you select the Facebook/Twitter option, a column will be made available on the right side of the window. You will find the PDF file already attached and before you click the Share button, you can add a message and specify a destination, such as My Wall, Group Wall (for Facebook), Public or Direct Message (for Twitter).

You can add your own text or notes over a document, draw shapes, take measurements, create bookmarks, insert digital signatures and more. The items you add will be organized automatically in different lists, which can be brought up on the left side of the window. Instead of scrolling through numerous pages to find a specific comment, you can just click its entry in one of the lists and you will be taken to that position instantly. A search function is available as well. Before you make use of it, you can apply different filters to find only whole words, include bookmarks and/or comments or perform a sensitive search.

Pros:
Besides all the smart features that Foxit Reader has to offer, it also comes with a user friendly interface. The most important options can be found on the toolbar and the rest of them are placed in the top menus, which can also be displayed as tabs, like in a MS Office program.

Cons:
The software has no serious issues.
